We get it.

At Shared Roots, we farm because we believe that food should be grown without harmful chemicals. We know that you and your family want the healthiest, most nutritious food. So do we!

In our 17 years as certified organic farmers, we’ve helped over 500 families in the Broome/Cortland/Tompkins county region start eating more fresh, healthy, totally chemical-free veggies through our CSA membership.

Starting in 2020, we are now partnering with Main Street Farms in Cortland. We’ve been friends with Allan & Bobcat of MSF since before we moved to Cortland County in 2014. It was a great 6 years of farming alongside each other and supporting each other as we farm in identical ways using certified organic practices.

Shared Roots Farm co-owner Bret is managing the certified organic farm operation that covers both Main Street Farms and Shared Roots Farm. The bulk of the veggies will be grown at Main Street Farms where there is more space and equipment. A few long season crops are grown here at Shared Roots, as well as most of the high tunnel crops, including tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and spring/winter greens.

Whether you are in Cortland, Syracuse, Ithaca, or Binghamton, you can benefit from this delicious collaboration! Our Summer CSA runs for 20 weeks, from mid-June through the end of October. With our share sizes, location options, and sliding scale, we're sure you'll find a share that works for you!

The Plan

Step 1

Choose your share.

You get to pick which size share is right for you, so you don’t end up with more veggies than you need.

Step 2

Choose your pick-up location.

We have six locations so you can get your share wherever is most convenient for you.

Saturdays at the Broome Regional Farmers Market or Thursday afternoons boxed shares in Cortland, Chenango Bridge, Binghamton, Vestal, and on-farm.

Step 3

It’s that simple. We’ll even send you weekly recipes to make seasonal eating a piece of (carrot) cake.

Pick from 4 great size options!

Subsidized and pro-rated shares available!

Choose a large or small, weekly or bi-weekly to find a share size that works best for you!

We love that our kids can go to the market and pick out fresh organic vegetables with us. The bins to pick from are at kid friendly heights and our kids think it’s just the best to shop at Shared Roots.

The tomatoes are sunkissed! Our toddler love to eat the kale and zucchini from our farm share, but he does not touch the ones from supermarkets. Even a 2 years old could tell the vegetables are exceptional!
